This Privacy Policy explains how the iConnex Click-to-Dial Chrome extension accesses, uses, processes and protects information when you use the extension.

iConnex Click-to-Dial is provided by iTelco Limited, trading under the iConnex brand.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and applicable privacy requirements.

2. Purpose of the Extension

iConnex Click-to-Dial enables authorised iConnex business phone users to initiate telephone calls directly from supported websites and CRM platforms using their configured iConnex phone service.

The extension only accesses information necessary to provide its click-to-dial and calling functionality.

3. Information the Extension Accesses

Website telephone numbers

The extension may access a telephone number displayed or selected on a webpage when a user chooses to initiate a call.

This information is accessed solely to provide click-to-dial functionality.

The extension does not collect or monitor the general content of websites for analytics, advertising, profiling or marketing purposes.

iConnex account information

The extension may access limited information from the user's configured iConnex phone service that is necessary to provide the extension's functionality. This may include:

• The user's configured extension number

• The user's display name

• Available outbound Caller ID options

• Information necessary to initiate and manage a telephone call

The extension does not request or collect the user's iConnex password.

Extension settings

Configuration information such as the user's:

• iConnex server

• Extension

• Outbound Caller ID configuration

• ​

may be stored locally within Google Chrome using Chrome's extension storage functionality.

These settings are used solely to operate the extension.

4. How Information is Used

Information accessed by iConnex Click-to-Dial is used only to provide the extension's functionality, including:

• Identifying a telephone number selected for calling

• Initiating a user-requested telephone call

• Connecting the extension with the user's configured iConnex phone service

• Displaying the user's extension and available Caller ID options

• Managing an active call

• Remembering extension configuration and preferences

We do not use information accessed through the extension for unrelated purposes.

5. Information We Do Not Collect for Marketing or Tracking

iConnex Click-to-Dial does not collect information for:

• Advertising

• Behavioural advertising

• Marketing profiling

• User tracking

• Website analytics

• Selling or trading user information

• Monitoring browsing history

• Monitoring general user activity

• Recording keystrokes, mouse movements or scrolling

The extension is not designed to track a user's browsing behaviour.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

iConnex does not sell personal information accessed through the extension.

Information required to initiate a telephone call is communicated with the user's configured iConnex/Vodia phone service as necessary to perform the call requested by the user.

Information may also be disclosed where required by New Zealand law or where otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act 2020.

We do not disclose information accessed by the extension to advertising networks or data brokers.

7. Data Storage and Retention

Extension configuration may be stored locally within Google Chrome.

iConnex Click-to-Dial does not maintain a separate advertising, analytics or behavioural tracking database containing information obtained from users' browsing activity.

Information processed to initiate a telephone call is used for the purpose for which it was provided.

Where iTelco Limited holds personal information, we retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law.

8. Security

We take reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, modification, disclosure or misuse.

Communications containing user information are intended to use secure connections where supported by the configured iConnex service.

Users and organisations are responsible for maintaining the security of their Chrome environment, computer, iConnex account and authentication credentials.

9. Overseas Processing and Disclosure

Some technology or infrastructure used to provide browser, telecommunications or supporting services may operate outside New Zealand.

Where iTelco Limited discloses personal information to an overseas organisation, we will handle that disclosure in accordance with the requirements of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including Information Privacy Principle 12 where applicable.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information subject to an overseas disclosure receives appropriate privacy protection.

10. Access and Correction

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, individuals have rights in relation to personal information held about them, including the right to request access to their personal information and to request correction where information is inaccurate.

Some information used by the extension is stored locally within your browser or held within your organisation's configured iConnex phone service rather than separately by the extension.

11. Indirect Collection

In some circumstances, a telephone number accessed through click-to-dial may relate to another individual and may appear on a website or within a CRM system rather than being provided directly by that individual to the extension.

The extension only processes such information when an authorised user initiates the click-to-dial functionality.

Where the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 requires notification in relation to personal information collected indirectly, iTelco Limited will comply with the applicable requirements, including Information

 

Privacy Principle 3A.

Organisations using iConnex Click-to-Dial are also responsible for ensuring that information contained within their own CRM systems, websites and other business systems is collected and used lawfully.

12. Chrome Web Store

iConnex Click-to-Dial is distributed through the Google Chrome Web Store.

Use of Google Chrome and the Chrome Web Store is also subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.

iTelco Limited does not control Google's independent collection or processing of information through Google Chrome or the Chrome Web Store.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy where the functionality of the extension changes, our information-handling practices change, or applicable legal or regulatory requirements change.

The latest version will be published on the iConnex website with the date it was last updated.
